Acne Scarring

Severe acne is usually genetic and has dietary causes as well.   Deep, painful nodules can form leading to scarring. If scarring is noticed, it is important to seek dermatologic care to prevent further scarring and after the acne is controlled with medication, the scars can then be addressed.  Many effective treatments such as fractional laser resurfacing are now available and quite affordable to treat the remaining scars. Several treatments may be necessary if the scarring is widespread or severe.
