Skin Cancer
Skin cancer is the most commonly diagnosed form of cancer. The three most frequent malignancies of skin are basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and malignant melanoma. Most of these cancers are caused by overexposure to ultraviolet light from the sun or tanning beds, although exposure to radiation, trauma and suppression of the immune system also play a role in causation. Surgical removal is the mainstay of therapy for skin cancers and prompt recognition, diagnosis and treatment are the keys to decreasing morbidity and mortality.
Listen to our patients’ experiences
“I’ve been a skin cancer patient of Dr. Fleck’s for about 10 years now; I have always been pleased with her skill and professionalism and it’s obvious she cares about the well-being of her patients. Because we live in Arizona and I happen to have fair skin, I suspect she’ll be seeing me for another 10 years. “ - G.F. |
